For UT’s creative prompt for Fall 2025 admission, I chose the prompt “guide or give instructions.” While looking at the Hotteok mix (a fried pancake with cinnamon brown sugar filing) box at my local H-Mart, I noticed that the instructions were often text-heavy with little visuals. I wanted to redesign the experience into something more easier for non Koreans to follow while being visually pleasing.

This illustrated guide transforms a standard recipe into a visually guided infographic. By using color-coded steps, hand drawn images, and friendly ingredient characters, I aimed to reduce confusion in the cooking process while making the experience feel warm and inviting.

Finally, I designed this as a double-sided layout on one sheet to keep the instructions easy to follow without missing any steps. Splitting the process across both sides allows the information to flow naturally while making it practical to fold and fit neatly inside the box.
